Fascinating stuff, that ๐คฉ
It’s absolutely useless to have a fancy title or degree/qualification/certification to your name, or experience under your belt, but if you are not able to influence people to help you get what you want:
– the cooperation to complete the project successfully
– the referrence to get that job
– the helping hand to debug that tricky flow
– the ‘yes’ required to get married ๐ฐ๐ป

If you know what I know
If you see what I see
… and you found out that I have used an influencing tactic to get you to do what I want…
AND you feel angry that I did so, then that is manipulation.
(e.g. lying about my cv and past experience to get you to hire me)
If, however, you were glad that I got you to see/do things my way after knowing my intention, then it’s legitimate influence.
(e.g. compelling you to do your homework to ace that test and get that job.)
There’s a range of power basis and influential tactics that can be used to influence an outcome.

There is an array of strategy to get people to do what you want them to do.
Ah, but how do you compel cheerful cooperation and instil loyalty?
That’s the skill.
Learn it.
Master it.
And you’ll be unstoppable. ๐ช๐ป
My secret weapon will always be to find out and use someone’s kryptonite (๐ฉ and ๐ซ are always favourites) ๐
Of course, I only use my power for Good.
How about you?
What strategies have you used to get the outcome you want?
