How often do we talk about our privilege?

How often do we talk about our privilege?
Do we acknowledge that our progress and how we got ‘here’ has had help?

On my next podcast episode, I have a searingly raw conversation with Jonathan Blair about #CRM#Salesforce#ProjectManagement ….

But also about #Privilege.

Jonathan talks candidly about growing up in South Africa, and the effects of the apartheid system had on his worldview where colour of your skin impacted so many areas of life.

Growing up in an ex-British Colony, I could see so much from the other side of the fence.

If you came from the West, and you were fair skinned and could speak English, then you are superior.

The environment, the culture and the environment we are in shapes who we are, and it is important to be incredibly aware and mindful of how we perceive the world and those around us.

The Pandemic has accelerated globalisation and advent of remote and virtual teams are now the norm, but do we still have this outdated idea that those we deem to be less-developed are not as good as we are?

I rarely get so deep into such a sensitive topic, especially with Jon who came to the table, totally prepared to have an uncomfortable conversation on this topic.

To be humble, to have humility, and to be able to look deep within in order to face the real truth… is not an easy task.

I loved every moment of our conversation. ❤

What’s the most deeply honest thing about yourself that very few people know about?
