L – Locate the right person/resource/stakeholder involved
I – Investigate root cause
S – Scope the problem and possible options to move forward
T – Test assumptions/understanding
E – Empathise pre-emptively
N – Navigate path forward
We also talked about how to prime your audience appropriately to receive bad news so that you can optimise the outcome (we practice this every Friday).
