I haven’t really doodled or posted very much

I haven’t really doodled or posted very much on LinkedIn in the last few months, except for stuff around #BadAssBA trailblazer meetups or my course or things like that.

That’s because I was burned out. 😣

Releasing 2 books in 1 year, and non-stop travelling and speaking and other community engagements… they were all too much.

How did I know I was burned out?

I didn’t want to doodle or write.

I couldn’t bear the thought of opening my laptop.

I just didn’t want to do anything.

Talking about #Burnout with Piyusha Pilania and Lilith Van Biesen made me realise I wasn’t alone.

Spotting the signs early is important, because recovery can be a tough road.

The only thing that kept me going was my daily #crossfit.

I’m not as amazing as the other athletes, but I show up and I do the work.

Every. Day.

How do I know I am getting better?

I see funny things and I can draw them again – especially things that happen in the #CrossfitBox.

Slowly but surely, I am on the mend.

#SpaceAndGrace – that’s what we need to give to those of us who expect too much of ourselves and crash.

Try to find the lightness and humour in life, because they make the burden we carry just a little bit lighter.
