I think a lot of us

I think a lot of us high achievers are perfectionists.

Sometimes that’s what you want.
If you’re in elite sports.
Such as executing the perfect routine for synchronised swimming.
Or performing a high rope acrobatic catch.

Where it’s necessary, being a perfectionist is absolutely crucial.

For most of us, an element of wanting things to be perfect is important, especially in the Consulting world.

This is especially true because our clients pay us to deliver high quality systems, and being slipshod and lazy about how we approach our work will not do.

On the other hand, being too much of a perfectionist isn’t ideal either.

When delivering #CRM projects such as #Salesforce, we are always working within constraints such as budget, time and resources and we wil constantly have to prioritise and make sure we focus on the important things.

A perfectionist will find it incredibly frustrating to work like this, and it can be quite detrimental to their mental health if they aren’t able to cope.

They may also find challenges in their personal life, because the beautiful messy part of being alive is the inherent uncertainties and the glorious opportunities to be surprised by the unexpected.

If you are a perfectionist I know that you care about doing good work, and that is an amazing trait.
However, I hope that you are able to find balance and peace within yourself, which will in turn lead you to find your own definition of success.

#Leadership is about making difficult decisions about competition priorities. Nothing will ever be perfect, and you need to be OK with that.

In work and in life, sometimes #DoneIsBetterThanPerfect.

For me, the only #perfection I’ve ever found is a hot, freshly made sugar dusted baby donut on a cold winter’s day. 😋🍩❄️
