I think we all need our own CAB (Change Advisory Board) in our brain 🧠
Sometimes called a CCB – Change Control Board, these people
🍩triage requests
🍩prioritise and rank
🍩do due diligence and risk assessment
🍩say “Heck yes” to some obvious Why-nots
🍩say “Nope” to those ‘chocolate fountains’ that have no business case justification.
Without a CAB or some form of control structure, we’d be snarfing chocolate smothered donuts 🍫🫕🍩 and blowing that new year resolutions! 😬
When you get your hands on a shiny new system that’s been well implemented, you’re likely to get excited and want to know what other magical things it can do. 🤸🏻
It’s only natural.
BUT…
If you don’t take a thoughtful pause and
✔️evaluate
✔️risk assess
✔️decide on the best action
You’re likely to just add bloat and tech debt, and that muffin top will never go away. 😭
Moral of story?
Make sure you staff your CAB with non chocolate-donut loving people who will help you make good choices – both for your Salesforce platform and your waistline! 😁
