Taking sprog on work trips is great for bonding time… Not so great for my pocket 😅
“So… When’s your next conference trip mum?”
It’s school holiday here in the UK and we hadn’t any plans because ÜberHub and the boys were busy. Also my next conference trips are in a couple of months to Mexico Dreamin and French Touch Dreamin’.
So when I saw an invite from Jakub Chycki to the inaugural GWDP Summit here in Madrid, I thought why not?
Well, after a soggy and wet (and expensive) shopping at Gran Via my pocket gave me a few £££ reasons why not! 😬
But who can put a price on building memories, right? ❤️
It’s definitely been a memorable trip for so many reasons.
First, thank you Alexandra Klein for springing a surprise on me by making me do an impromptu presentation and featuring my company Zenhao alongside Africa Ohana (and for making Sprog 3 feel welcome at Halloween decorated Salesforce Madrid! 🎃🦇)
I feel so privileged beside wonderful GWDP partners like AO founders Jennifer Ndlovu (Woman In Tech) ThankGod Onyekachukwu Okoro and Dangsenpenan Nokshuwan (sadly I can’t make West Africa Dreamin but will be supporting them from afar!)
And to Naseera Avila Castillo, the one-woman team behind the global fundamentals program who kept sprog 3 fed on pringles (well done keeping the participants safe from a potentially ravenous teenager – great to see this part of the health and safety training protocol in action! 👍🏻😁)
I loved Esther Lucena‘s keynote highlighting the importance of soft human skills that is critical in any transformation, Agentic or otherwise. That is totally my love language ❤️.
And even though I’ve been told I’m not hip and trendy in any way including music, fashion (I mean just check out the flower embroidery on my jeans… She said they are barely trendy?) beauty and makeup sense, sprog 3 does admit I have the coolest friends on the planet. 😎
And that counts for a lot!
And that’s in spite of the number of f-bombs you dropped Alexandra Klein! 😬🤭😆
It’s been a good trip for so many reasons and I’m reminded of how very very lucky I am to have these people in my life.
I am definitely one of the richest people I know! ❤️ (Even if it is not in the financial sense – especially after this trip!) 🥰
