“Weeds grow automatically.”
This is not about gardening. 🙅🏻♀️
Sadly life is really an infinite game.
We can’t “be done” as soon as we
🍩get that degree
🍩get that job
🍩hit that weight target 🏋🏻♀️
🍩find that life partner 💘
🍩go-live with that sexy CRM called #Salesforce 😏
Our BAU (or “Business As Usual”) operations for all parts of our lives should include CANI (“Continuous And Neverending Improvement”)
😁 Are you loving my TAFLA (“Three And Four Letter Acronyms) yet?
Jesting aside, there’s never been a more important time to read Simon Sinek‘s book on Infinite Game. Focusing on the journey is a lot less useful than focusing on the process.
“Whaaat? But you have already written a book! Why write another one?”
Interestingly someone asked me this very question, which perplexed me.
🤔
But why not?
Honing the craft of writing, of communicating ideas in a way that is engaging and valuable is a never-ending one.
There’s always a better way of framing things, of postulating ideas, of using a better turn of phrase or of telling the story so that the point resonates with my readers and audience.
Focusing on how to master something is a great journey to be on, because even if I improve 0.5% every day, it is still forward motion and I have found out through experience that in many areas of my life, I must move forward in order to stand still. 😖
Neglect and apathy allows weeds to grow, and I’d like my mind to be like a well cultivated donut bush please. 🍩🌳
Right – I don’t know where this analogy is going, so you’re just going to have to follow along 😆
