When do we need to be ruthless with our time?

When do we need to be ruthless with our time?
For us #SalesforceConsultants – all the time.
It’s more critical for us, primarily because our time is money.

I know that many consultants have set poor examples of wasting clients’ money with useless meetings and time-wasting activities, but I was fortunate enough to have worked with companies who have had great leaders as role models.

🕰=💰💰💰

As a Project Manager for a consulting partner, this has been tatoo-ed in my eyelids. (ok that was a metaphor, anything else would be excruciatingly painful! 😫)

One of the reasons why businesses engage partners to help implement projects is that it’s a great motivator for forward motion.

I make sure that if we have to have a meeting, or a call – that we have an outcome that we achieve. 💪🏻

I make sure that decisions are made using all the ethical influence strategies at my disposal – my charm and winning smile notwithstanding 😁

I make sure (as much as I possibly can) that the time we spend on building and developing the solution for our client is balanced between being detailed enough on the quality issues and the value the system will deliver.

Strong leadership and technology champions at the c-suite level enables an organisation to push forward with initiatives by adopting a dynamic culture of ‘doing’.

There are many with languishing internal projects punctuated by stop-start meetings that meander, paralyzed by indecisiveness and culture that finds it difficult to push against the resistance to change.

The 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 adage is a powerful statement that creates forward motion.

In this case – engaging a really good* external consulting partner to help you push forward the change you need can be a great strategic move.

What are your strategies for ensuring that meetings are productive and decisive?

* obviously you need one that comes with positive references, as you don’t want to work with one that operates like those I mentioned at the beginning of this post 😁
