With all the hype around ChatGPT and GPT4, and the revolution of AI and deepfakes that will change the world… it is worth asking:
🍩 What’s real anymore?
🍩 How much value will we put on ’emotional labour’?
For example, would you love stories churned out by GPT as much as you’d love it from your favourite author? 🧙🏻♂️🦄👻
🍩 How will we know that the work submitted by the remote worker is the real deal? 🤖
🍩 Will it even matter?
🍩 How will we know that we are connecting to a person on the other side of the screen, and not a bot, or a GPT-provided response?
🍩 How will this change the connection we have with each other?
It is definitely an incredible leap in technology, and I am truly excited to see what the future holds for us.
I’m just taking a pause here, and wonder about what it means for us as social human beings.
Unless we are face to face, and I can touch your shoulder and see your smile light up the room – how will I know that what I see on my screen is actually you?
Perhaps this will cause a reivival in local in-person events, where the magic of proximity is something that cannot be replaced by AI.
We will have to find a way to continue to stay human.
And not forget the basic things that connects us all.
Being kind.
And being compassionate. ❤
I think I’ll just continue to focus on that. 🌹
