Wut? No. 🙅🏻♀️
Starting November 3, LinkedIn will use our content to train AI models unless we opt out.
The thing is I’ve spent YEARS building my body of work on this platform.
Every doodle, every insight, every vulnerable share about my #Samaritans shifts and consulting battles.
Since 2020, I’ve done over 4700 posts, more than half of which has doodle.
That’s MY intellectual property.
MY emotional labour.
MY creative output.
I don’t fancy someone using LinkedIn AI to prompt: “Please write a post bashing <insert potential controversy subject> in the style of #OnThePeiroll with an appropriate doodle she’s known for.”
My work shouldn’t be hijacked to create messages that could betray my values or misrepresent who I am.
I’m not anti-AI.
In fact, I use it myself when it makes sense.
But there’s a difference between ME choosing to use AI as a tool and MY work being used without explicit consent to train models that could misrepresent who I am and what I stand for.
Right now, I am selfish with the body of work that I have taken years to build with my emotional labour, and that’s ok.
If you disagree with my stand, that’s OK too.
I do me, and you do you.

Tip: Here’s how to opt out if you want to: Settings & Privacy → Data Privacy → How LinkedIn uses your data → scroll to “Data for Generative AI Improvement” and toggle OFF.
We all deserve the choice. 🌹
