Doing this at the beginning can be a safe low-risk start to your career. 👍🏻

However, the challenge is that
– internal projects are not billable, and therefore usually impacts utilisation rate and therefore, your performance bonus.
– there’s no one prioritising your work for you, which means
– you’ll have many people pressuring you to do their work for them.

👎🏻
😐 Sigh.
What do you do?

1. Is there a billable project/time code for this? 💲
m- Always push for billable code if it impacts your utilisation metrics

2. How much time are you given to complete this task ⏳
– You will need to eyeball this and gauge whether you are able to meet this expectation, given your current level of skills and experience. If not, please raise this issue up immediately.

3. When do they need this work completed by.
– This allows you to prioritise it amongst any other work you have, and if there’s a conflict – let the People in Charge get into a bunfight for your time.

It’s also not 100 man days every day of the month. It’s every work day. 🙄 I was too excited about the topic and didn’t get a chance to correct myself!😁
