πStep 6: Support Technical Implementation (Be the bridge, not a bottleneck)
Laura Brandenburg on the BA’s role during implementation:
Your job:
π© Review designs & sit in on design meetings (great way to learn technical capabilities for future scoping)
π© Review test plans and test cases
π© Answer questions as they arise
π© Create clear communication paths so people ask YOU instead of making assumptions or going directly to stakeholders
Why this matters: Stakeholders might not think through all the impacts of a change or distinguish between what was decided vs. just discussed.
Proactive issue management: When a requirement becomes technically infeasible, you’re the one who:
– Figures out alternative solutions
– Assesses business impact
– Facilitates the tradeoff discussion
You’re naturally doing much of this already – the key is being intentional about availability and communication channels.
