🔍 BA skills aren’t just for big projects—they work on EVERYTHING
Laura Brandenburg just shared how the BA framework applies across project sizes:
Large initiatives:
– Configuring new workflows
– System migrations (to/from Salesforce, spreadsheets, etc.)
– Data integrations between systems
Smaller work:
– Building reports
– Adding a single field
The mindset shift? Even for a simple field addition, ask:
WHY are we adding this?
How does it fit the business process?
What will we DO with this information?
💡 Real example: A BI team uses the full BA framework for report requests as part of onboarding. Before building anything, analysts must understand WHERE the user needs the info and WHAT they’re doing with it.
The framework scales – it might take months for migrations or just one meeting for a field. The thinking process stays the same.
