🚨Controversial post🚨: Consulting-led projects should NEVER be run using agile methodology. 🙅🏻‍♀️

There! I’ve said it!

Have you ever been in a situation where everyone around you is saying that Yellow is the Whitest colour in the world, and you know that’s not quite true but you feel you can’t say it because your eyes may be wrong? 😵

Well, that’s how I’ve always felt about the ‘Agile’ bandwagon ever since I moved over from the hashtag#MicrosoftPartner ecosystem to the hashtag#SalesforcePartner hashtag#ohana.

Even got myself agile certified and all just to make sure I could walk and talk the agile lingo. 🦆

I’ve done so many consulting projects in the last 30 years, and have obviously used many methodologies: RAD, PRINCEII (which is actually waterfall), Critical Path Methodology (CPM – also waterfalley) proto-typing, kanban, Scrum (which is agile-ish)…. and I shall now make a stand. 👣

If you’re an organisation looking to get a hashtag#SalesforcePartner to help you implement a project that’s less than 18 months, you should be very wary if they suggest an agile methodology.

I explain my reasoning in my weekly newsletter, dropping every Monday evening around 5pm BST ish.

It wasn’t until I heard Seth Godin 🌔 when talking about hashtag#ProjectManagement that my thoughts around this really crystalised, and I feel comfortable enough to declare that this is the Hill I Will Croak On. 🐸
