I hated the move from WordPerfect to WinWord. 😣

Then I hated it when Office 2007 got the Ribbon. 😫

And then I resisted mightily from upgrading from Office 2010 because I had memorized all the keyboard shortcuts. 😒

I felt the same with each successive upgrade of the Windows OS, because my muscle memory could quickly get to the DOS prompt and type mstsc to get to remote desktop or appwiz.cpl to get to the uninstall window. 😠

I feel like an old dinosaur sometimes 🐱‍🐉 in the way I resist new funky dory features. 😣

So when PENUP, my favourite doodling app on my Samsung that had really simple features got a full upgrade, my British ‘rage mode’ turned on, which resulted in continuous grumbling while I fiddled with the different functions to try and replicate what I used to do.

😒 Never have I had so much empathy for the ‘Classic’ champions, holding out against the LWC Brigade!

Sigh.

There’s no reason for this post other than a silent melodramatic grieving for the simplicity of a tool that has given way to new functions.

While dry brush, splatter paint and dry oil pastels options seem to be a good enhancement, the dinosaur in me just wants the Good Ole UI/UX back. 😔

Nevertheless, I must say that funky hair and sprinkle balls just make the doodles a little bit more interesting. 😏 OK maybe I might just mess about with this a bit and see what else it can do 😁
