“Everything’s hunky dory.” 😬

“Everything’s hunky dory.” 😬

“Project’s on track and on budget.” πŸ€₯

“No, no trouble at all.” πŸ‘πŸ»

In my experience, those who are afraid of difficult conversations are only delaying the pain that will ultimately come.

As a #ProjectManager, having these sorts of conversations is part of the job description.

It isn’t easy, but it’s absolutely key for managing relationships and expectations properly.

But of course, it makes you look like a bad guy.

πŸ˜’ And nobody likes being #TheBadGuy.

But that’s part of the job description.

Which is also an important skill for a #SalesforceConsultant especially when working for a smaller boutique partner where they have to wear many hats.

Being able to say

❌No, the tech can’t do that

❌No, it’s out or scope

❌No, the new timeline is too aggressive

Can be very difficult for some people.

But sugar coating bad news is rarely the answer.

This is true not only for projects and the professional work space, but also in personal situations.

I always operate in na environment of candour and safety so that we can focus on the problem in front of us, and not get distracted by politics and unnecessary human drama. πŸ™„

Read about how Clem, a consultant at Cloudacious manages difficult conversations in my most recent book #SalesforceConsulting101 available at your nearest Amazon store. 😊

If you enjoyed it, I’d love it so much if you can drop me a 5⭐ review. Otherwise I’d appreciate a private dm about it 😁

Do you find it easy to deliver bad news?
