I think this is the same about life, no?

I think this is the same about life, no?

No two people see something EXACTLY the same. 👀👀

Physically see with own eyeballs 👁️ or metaphorically see with your worldview. 🌍

Our experiences shape us, and defines how we see the world.

That’s what make life so infinitely interesting – that we have to depend on our communication skills to “see” what other’s are seeing.

This is why I really enjoy project discovery – it’s a bit like dating (though it’s been YEARS since my last date before the sprogs came along 😁) and it can still give me those butterflies! 🦋

It’s trying to see what they see, so that we can help them design a solution that solves the problem that is really hurting them.

“Tell me more…”

“When you say you do it this way, can you tell me why…?”

“Why is this part of the process important…?”

Running discoveries well requires not only astute communication skills, but deep empathy – to realise that everyone sees, processes and understands things very differently.

Our job as a #SalesforceConsultant and a #BusinessAnalyst (or #BadAssBA) is to ensure we strip our own ego, assumptions, and bias in order to understand the other party.

Only then can we say we know what to do to help them fix their pain.
