Is there such a thing as 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 diversity when considering who to invite for a workshop?
I believe a happy medium needs to be struck between
– getting a broad range of opinions, perspectives and thinking, and
– being focussed and achieving your goal
Journey mapping, workshopping as-is and to-be processes, co-creating solutions and brainstorming… they are all MUCH better with a broader, more diverse group.
There is a real risk of Groupthink, which limits the effectiveness of any change an organisation wishes to make.
Yesterday weI kicked off the first proper session of the no-charge Salesforce Business Analysis Working Group, for those wishing to not only pass the shiney new exam (released yesterday) but also to hone their BA skills.
I am also very much in favour of in-person workshops, and I feel a bit sad that covid has made remote interactions ‘normal’. 😢
While I understand that it makes it more convenient for attendees who might not be co-located, it cannot replicate the magic of feeling the energy of proximity. 😔
Yes – the job still gets done; but it is unable to capture the ‘richness’ of tacit information that gets passed in an in-person environment.
Onto Day 2 this afternoon:
