“It’s like duck talking to chicken!”

“It’s like duck talking to chicken!”

It really isn’t very hard to decode this Cantonese slang, which can be a spectacular sight when volumes are raised in a heated discussion.

There are some who think that miscommunication can be cleared easily by cranking up the volume.

You don’t understand what I’m saying?
MAYBE I’LL JUST YELL LOUDER! 🔊

It’s also not difficult to guess that there isn’t very much listening happening.

In my experience, active listening, in a genuinely curious, non judgemental way, where we want to understand without agenda, will often defuse and de-escalate situations.

Being a really good communicator isn’t just about imparting information.
It’s about achieving “Shared Understanding”.

We talked about this during today’s TTEOF – This Thing Every Other Friday… Zenhao Academy’s Fortnightly workshops.

Active Listening workshops are also on next week – only £59. Monday and Tuesday, from 2-5pm BST.

We’ll do role plays and look at the various scenarios where misunderstandings can happen, and how deep active listening can make such an impact especially if you want to level up as a #Salesforce consultant.
