Zig Ziglar talks about being a meaningful specific as opposed to a wandering generality.
It’s such an insightful statement that I let it percolate for a few days, trying to get a feel for it.
My take on it is you’ll end up being a wandering generality if
– you don’t take charge of your life
– you “go with the flow”
– you live on the “default” option.
Whereas it requires strong intent to become a meaningful specific.
To be great at something.
Being really good at coding.
Being very creative at solving interesting problems.
Being a wonderful leader.
Being a friend.
Being kind.
To live a life of meaning.
To make an impact.
To matter.
I try to live my life by this ethos.
It’s the only legacy I can leave my kids that is more valuable than anything else.
To live a life of meaningful specificity.
For me, I think that life is too short to live any other way. 🌹
