Did you know that Samaritans is available 24×7, 365 days a year?
Well… we are.
Our listening volunteers are there to support our callers anytime, day or night. ☀️🌛
(The only thing is that we have more callers than we have volunteers, so there is often a queue – but that’s a story for another post.)
So to raise visibility of our service, AND raise money for my branch…
I am planning to do 24 (unique) talks in 24 hours on 24th July.
24/7 – get it? Well, maybe not my American friends who do date formats differently 🤭
My target is to raise £2473.65
(i.e. 24 hours a day 7days a week 365 days a year)
So every hour on the hour – starting at midnight 24 July, I’ll be delivering a LIVE talk from one of my previous conference sessions (or other nominated topics), for 24 hours.
These will ALL be different.
Anyway some thoughts:
🍩Going to need the 30 minute breaks for food/toilet/power naps 🍔🚽😴
🍩I might open up my slots for co-hosts to help keep me awake (and ask questions)
🍩I could take suggestions from you (readers/audience) to see what you’d like me to talk about
🍩Perhaps my friends in Oz/NY might want to put in a special request (for a bumped-up donation 😁)
🍩Need to set up donation site…
🍩… other reasons why this is a crazy idea will probably be apparent soon. 🤪
