How often do you fall into the trap of being ‘Me’-focused?

It’s so easy to do, but it curtails and derails conversations and keeps them surface-level shallow.

It does not encourage deeper exploration that when done in a kind and non-judgemental manner allows for us to connect at a human level.

So here are SHUSH rules of #ActiveListening
🍩Show you care by paying attention
🍩Have patience, the other person may not know how to share what’s on their mind
🍩Use open non-judgemental questions to explore feelings and emotions
🍩Say it back – in your own words, to show that you’ve been listening
🍩Have courage – to ask difficult questions, and to hear difficult things
