Preparing for a new Salesforce Consultant role

IMHO, #ResourceManagers are heroes. 🦸‍♀️

They are the oracles of #Salesforce and other Consulting Partners.

Sort of like Dr Strange and the Time Stone 💎
He knows what’s coming, even though the future hasn’t been set in stone yet, and he’s constantly trying to manipulate current events to be ready for what may or may not be becoming reality.

Resource Managers are generally included in Sales meetings, where they are made aware of all the opportunities that are on the horizon, especially the important ones, or those that may require specialised resources that are tight.

They have to plan for what may or may not be signed off, by looking at the current pool of resources and who may be finished just around the time when that Statement of Work gets its digital signature.

Current projects may or may not be extended, which puts a big ❓ on when resources may get released.

Resource Managers are in charge of getting you assigned on projects. If you are canny, you’ll make him/her your new best friend.
Do whatever they ask.

– Complete that one-pager CV profile which gets forwarded to new projects
– Book your holidays and trainings as MUCH in advance as possible, and try not to change it last minute. Their performance is generally tied to how accurate they forecast revenue.

#ResourceManagement is a tough job – as it’s very difficult to make everyone happy, so please try to accomodate whenever they ask you to do something.

In return, sometimes if there’s a juicy or fun project coming up, they tag you on it – just because you’re one of the few who aren’t grumpy at them for not getting their way.

#BeKind and #BeNice to everyone.
You never know, you might get that dream project you’ve been waiting for! 😍

Tomorrow – 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟱 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟮 – 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁
It’s like your first date, just less awkward and no smooching 😘
