Sin #2. Thou Shalt Not Disobey the Iron Triangle

Sin #2. Thou Shalt Not Disobey the Iron Triangle 📐(of Project Management).

People try to cut corners all the time.
Especially when the smelly stuff hits the fan. 💩

“Do more work with fewer resources!”
“Work faster, and longer without rest or food!”
“Do it all for FREEEEEE!”
😑

You can sorta bend the triangle, a wee bit (usually at the pointy end of the project during go-live 🗡).
Only a little though.

Cutting corners almost ALWAYS comes at a cost (tech debt, anyone?) and is usually pretty invisible.

For the team and the project, cutting corners impact the quality of the

🍩 Will to live 🥀

Just like everything in life, there might be reasons why we aren’t able to follow ‘the book’ or ‘best practices’, and we have to roll up our sleeves and get scrappy.

I have so many examples but I want to hear yours 😬
