There is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’.

There is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’.
No.. one ‘perfect, most correct way’ to do things.

Waterfall.
Agile.
SAFe.
Prototype.
DevOps.
Extreme Programming.
Test Driven Development (TDD)
Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
Rapid Application Development (RAD).
Etc etc etc.

#SalesforcePartners implementing software for organisations will usually find that a hybrid of waterfall and agile works best.

I.e. A Discovery up front to understand
– the business pain points
– the strategic organisational goals and objectives
– the role of other software partners in the programme
– the risks and implications of change on the current business and technical landscape.

This will include an element of Design of the future state and then followed by iterative development process to allow flexibility in managing change in requirements.

Towards the end, all parties need to test integration, data migration, all functional and non-functional requirements as well as organisation led User Acceptance Testing before the system can be handed over to the customer.

That’s why hybrid is the most ideal #Consulting methodology.
It manages expectations, requirements, and risks in a Partner engagement model.

Building softare as an ISV, or implementing #Salesforce with your own Centre of Excellence will require a methodology that works for you, your company, and your company culture.

Like everything else in life, make sure that you aren’t blindly following the advice of the person who seems to be so confident that their solution is the best one.

Just remember to walk away when Rar decides to join in your discussion! 😁
