“Where’s your project manager in all this?” 🤔
I was talking to a stressed out consultant who is a BA on a highly disorganised project.
As she was telling me about all the things that she had to do to steer the project right, I was wondering what her project manager was doing.
” I don’t know.” she throws up her hands.

In fact I’ve known PMs who think that their job is just to organise meetings and take minutes.
It’s more than that.
The best of us do so much more than that.
We anticipate things that may happen and plan for it. 🔭
We listen to the quiet voices that need to be heard. 👂
We see things that others do not, because we are looking.
We feel the pulse of the project, and we know when things are going off course and make just the right corrections to steer it back. 💗
We know how to trust our instinct.
We create the human connections and the bonds of trust that lets the team do their best work.
We nurture an environment that allows people to become the best versions of themselves when they’re with us. 😎
We protect and shield them from politics, noise and distractions. 🛡
We are the glue that hold the people and the project together.
We model what real #leadership means by setting the tone and culture.
We show what it means to do work that matters, for people who care.
We do work that we can be proud of.
That’s so much more than asking for status of user stories, nagging about time sheets and chasing for action items.
The best of us show up for ourselves, and for others.💕
