Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, Kanban…
What’s best when implementing #Salesforce projects with a Consulting Partner?

A hybrid approach is generally used, as it allows the partner to understand the situation during Discovery, and put together a robust Test strategy to bring together the various partners if there are integration and data migration workstreams.

Super large programmes spanning the globe and different timezones, with multiple phases and waves across a multi-year delivery will require a much more different approach.

However, using Pareto’s 80:20 rule, let me address the 80 part by talking about what most projects that the Small to Medium sized partners may be involved in.

The hybrid is key – as it allows us to manage the risks and scope properly, while being able to define a high quality output with limited technical debt.

Any approach that doesn’t optimise upfront design and planning as much as the Waterfall methodology will by default, incur tech debt whenever you implement new changes into the system.

I talked about this topic in my recent newsletter issue, where I generally wax lyrical about Project Management, Consulting, Delivery of Salesforce and other #CRM systems as well as Leadership and more human skills of living.

If you like any of the above topics, you can subscribe in the link 👇🏻

By the way – the space was intentionally left blank in my doodle below because I didn’t know what to fill it with 😁

Also, test phase could well include things like Performance Volume Testing, and even security and penetration testing if you are implenting a website that requires a very robust test strategy.
Or even Operational Acceptance testing, if handing over to an external Managed Services company.

Anyone who knows me will know I can talk about Testing till the 🐄 come home 😁
Which is why I have my newsletter, it allows me to talk about all the things I find interesting – which I hope that my readers find interesting too!
