I have actively stayed away

I have actively stayed away from any news that involves the monarchy. There is so much toxicity and vitriol in the media that debases who we are as humans. ☠

As someone who is regularly on the phonelines to those who are so desperate that they see only one way out of the pain of life – I know for a fact that we have absolutely no idea of the bloody battles some people fight every day.

I believe that this is true of many sides of every story.

And so I do not engage and I do not judge on the controversial story that has taken the world by storm.

Instead, I choose to focus on the outpouring of #kindness and #compassion in the @salesforce #ohana towards those who have been laid off. ❤

I do not see very much bitterness, anger or acrimony (though that does not mean they don’t exist), but grace, humility and acceptance towards the companies that have let them go. 🧡

People opening up their networks, their DMs and their 💛 to support their tribe, their people, their family.

I see posts about new year resolutions about getting more certification, specialising and learning new stuff such as DevOps, working harder to get their next dream job, more hustling, and more everything… except for more kindness. 💚

The #Samaritans phoneline, which is 24×7, never stops ringing, because there are so so many who are struggling, desperately trying to find a glimmer of hope through the haze of pain.

We need more kindness. 💙

If you’re struggling, and you ‘hate to bother others because everyone’s struggling too’, please reach out.
Just because others are in pain, it does not mean that your pain is any less valid.

Those who ‘survived’ the axe 🪓 will also be under tremendous pressure to do more work with fewer resources. They will also be going through ‘Survivor’s guilt’, making it even less likely for them to say when they are drowning.

#BeKind. 💜

Regardless of what’s happening to you and around you, be kind to yourself and to others.

If you’re struggling, and you live in the UK, call Samaritans freephone on 116 123.
If you’re in the USA, it’s 998 which is toll-free.

Pick up the phone.
You don’t have to go through this alone. 🌹
