It’s really not difficult

It’s really not difficult to create content about project delivery when I get messages like these 🙄

The post literally writes itself.

I don’t know why, but it still amazes me that people really believe they can go-live with a product that 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩 without testing.

I mean, would you
– wear a wedding dress that you have ‘designed’ but never been to a fitting 👰🏻
– serve a dish to your future parents-in-law that you created without tasting it 😱
– buy a house before checking to see if it has fibre optics and high speed broadband?!? 🏠

I mean – are you 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗲??

Even though I shouldn’t be surprised anymore when I hear the word “agile” thrown about like a panacea for all the ills of poor project management and software delivery – but I still am. 😐

And not the kind of “Here’s a 🍩 because you’re so awesome” surprise.
It’s the “Hey there’s dog poop in my shoe” surprise. 🤢
Not expected, and certainly not welcome.

If you’re planning a project delivery that takes you from
State (A) – your current state that is causing you so much pain that you wish for a different existance, to
State (B) – a future state that is inhabited by unicorns, fairies and calorie-less fast food, then

DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE.
Put in the effort to define and design what you want your future to be (make sure it’s realistic).
And test to make sure you’re getting what you asked for.

There’s no point complaining about it later if you give up the right to test the product, and IMHO – User Acceptance Testing is absolutely a non-negotiable part of any project.

Testing should be an integral part of project strategy – FROM THE BEGINNING.

No, my caps lock isn’t stuck.

This is just an emotional topic for me.
(Definitely a few level up from “quite exasperated”.)

And no – don’t go abusing the “agile” word like a donkey hauling Cleopatra’s A$$. That just makes me want to poke more holes in a 🍩 with my pencil.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 when you know I’ve truly hit Miffed level 121 😡

ps I’ve decided to throw in bonus material on Test Strategy for Successful #Salesforce Project Delivery if you sign up for my Consulting Delivery Masterclass (starting this Saturday – deets below 👇🏻)

That way – not only will you learn how to run Discoveries to set up your project for success, you’ll also have the tools to design a Test approach that would be like cherry on the icing on the cake. 🍰

Note to self: reduce food related metaphors, they really test my willpower 😵
