When I get a DM

When I get a DM like this it makes my face go 😣
#Salesforce is the hottest thing right now, and all the Consulting Partners are signing projects left right and centre.

They are recruiting heavily, and assign these people (even the green ones) to projects – sometimes without training, support or guidance.

This is a scary place to be! 😱

It’s like being thrown into the lion’s den 🦁 with a baguette as your weapon 🥖🤺.

There are two things that consultants need to possess to be successful, the skills and training on:
1. the HARD competencies on the product and platform, and
2. the HUMAN skills on the business of implementing solutions and delivering quality projects

My Masterclass focuses on item (2) above by providing training that wil allow an individual to excel at the consulting aspects of the role:
– the ability to walk into any Discovery and talk to stakeholders
– the skills to run effective process mapping workshops and ask the right questions to elicit requirements
– the confidence to know how to write strong user stories and present the designed solution to the client

However, it does not address the fact that hard skills and knowledge are still needed to do the job well.

Luckily, we live in the amazing world of #Salesforce#ohana, and I must give a shout out to Jasmine Ashley, who carved out time out of her busy day today as the Solutions Engineer at Salesforce to step up to help! 🥰🥰

This is exactly what it’s like to live in a world where people are generous and kind.
“You are most welcome!” she says.
“We want to be setting people up to succeed!”

That’s what it’s all about.

𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱.

If you’re fantastic on the hard competencies around Salesforce clouds, but falling down on the softer human aspects of high quality software delivery – you might want to check out my Masterclass – a 6 week programme starting this Saturday 19 Feb on Saturdays (details below).

If you’re a #SalesforcePartner and you want to set up your team for success, get in touch with me. My LIVE classes start next Monday 21 Feb.

Back to the DM.
Getting assistance from Jasmine doesn’t guarantee success, but I hope it’s enough to help get through the initial stage.

Alas, situations like these are what I call “character building”.
The problem is that you might emerge stronger, or if the experience is too harsh or brutal to handle, you could get burned badly.

These are the things that causes mental health issues.

If you’re a strong leader, please look after your team.
Don’t expose them to situations without adequate training or support.
You need to create strong safe environment for your team to thrive, otherwise, you’ll find your talent walking out due to stress and burn-out.

I love it that I live in a place where people like Jasmine exist.
