Ok, the doodle below didn’t age that well did it* 😬
Genie is SO last century (actually, 2 DF’s ago).
It’s CDP now.
Oops, my bad.
It’s Data Cloud.
Isn’t it? 🤨

ANYway – today’s post is about Statement of Works (SOW) and how hashtag#SalesforcePartners should write them so that they are precise (and I decided to use a doodle from a talk I did with Alex Warneke for the SFBA Summit last year).

Note to self: try to make sure all doodles are future proof’ed. 😁

As a customer, you might think that getting a vague SOW for a fixed price is good value (a ‘blank cheque’ as we say here in the UK)… but nope! 🙅🏻‍♀️

It signals pain for all parties involved!

So anyway, my weekly-newsletter-on-Mondays this week (which went out on Sunday because I sheduled it on the wrong day 🙄) focused on this topic.

If you usually write SOWs, you’ll want to get your hands on a sample chapter of my hashtag#SalesforceDiscovery101 book that has really solid tips about how to write it well.

I am very lucky because I’ve had the privilege of:

(1) being handed RED projects 😬 that skirted (and toe-dipped) into the legal fray so I know what to do and what NOT to do, and

(2) being trained on how to write SOWs by actual legal people

… all of those character-building experiences which I packaged into a short chapter in my book and is yours for the taking.

And if you really like that chapter, maybe you want to get the whole book and read all about Rooj and her adventures with Cloudacious where she joins Vi on her first Discovery engagement! 😊

*Genie was a concept launched at Dreamforce 2022 by two founders and co-CEOs wearing bunny ears. It’s since been rebranded a few times, and I don’t know what it’s called now… Customer Data GPT Fluffy CumulousNimbus? 🤷🏻‍♀️
