Preparing for a new #Salesforce Consultant role Tip 11

Preparing for a new #Salesforce Consultant role
𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟭𝟭 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟮 – 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲

We are all different creatures, and the same word may mean different thing to you than it does to me.

What do you think these mean?
– Quality
– Good performance
– Easy to use
– Fast
– Efficient
– Dummy-proof
– Future-proof
– Shortcut

You get the idea.
It does not pay to assume anything, ESPECIALLY if you’re a newbie.
Cast off that fear of looking dumb, and ask for clarity.

“When you say ‘It needs to be quicker’, what do you mean? How is it currently not working to your expectations? What exactly do you want it to do?” 🤨

#Questioning skills, especially those that probe assumptions are absolutely key.

I cover the Socratic questioning techniques and we practice asking different questions to level up the quality of Discovery workshops in my Masterclass.

You’ll go away not only with the tools to ask great questions, but a bank of hugely relevant Discovery questions to ask for CRM implementations.

Remember, you don’t need to know all the answers, but you do need to ask the critical questions so that the important conversations can happen.

If I find a consultant making #assumptions, I can only think that they
– are a bit too lazy to dig deeper 😑
– feel they know it all, and that they are right
– are too scared to look dumb by asking too many questions

No, I won’t assume any of the above, but I will ask some uncomfortable questions about why the assumptions were made and the basis for making them.

As a newbie, don’t shy away from asking questions.
