The Job Description

The Job Description for a #CRM Consultant for #Salesforce should not include “Psychic.”

One of the traits of a really good consultant is the ability to ask great questions, to hold #NoAssumptions and #NoJudgement about how a client runs their business.

#ActiveListening is a key skill that allows them to listen for the nuances of what is and isn’t being said, so that they can gently probe and get to the heart of the matter.

It takes curiosity for what drives human behaviour, of how people appear because they don’t want to appear dumb, of how fear as an emotion can create a smoke screen and obscure the truth.

But listening and understanding isn’t enough.
You need to show that you really _do_ understand.
And that’s why we, as consultants, as Business Analysts, need to be able to draw really good process maps.

You don’t need a degree, or any qualifications.
Just a sharp mind, and the ability to draw shapes and arrows.

When two people are aligned in how they understand that little piece of their world to be, then a connection is made. 💡

I cover this crucial communication skill on how to clearly convey understanding of business processes in simple shapes in my Consulting Discovery Masterclass – starting in less than 2 weeks.
Details below.
