Still waters run deep

Still waters run deep.
Don’t judge a book.. etc etc.

Most behaviours are driven by insecurity, fear and worry about not being seen to be good enough. This can manifest in a few ways:
– Talking loudly
– Staying quiet
– Acting aggressive
– Keeping small
– Becoming a workaholic and achieve ‘success’
– Keeping your head down and staying in the background

You will know those people who have healthy self esteem who are so comfortable in their skins, and so confident in themselves that they are humble about their talents and achievements.

However, there are others who have various degrees of insecurity. 😰

When dealing with people, I try to understand what’s going on underneath, and I hold judgement.

In the #Salesforce consulting world, it is important to be competent, and not just in an outwardly blustery way.

People can tell the difference between substance and fluff.

What I’ve always wanted to be is a Big Carrot.
Let people to underestimate me, so that I have a big advantage – be it knowledge or skills, or a unique understanding of a situation that allows me to be a really good problem solver. 💪🏻

I wanted to be the little Honda that outraces that Porsche 🚗🏎
I wanted to be the one that blows people away because they weren’t expecting such awesomeness from a mouse! 🐭

And so, I tend to give the quiet people a voice at the table so that they can share their brilliance with the team in a safe environment.

The best consultants are the Big 🥕 who are quietly competent, who gets the job done.

Have you ever worked with a Big 🥕?
