This is exactly what I mean when I say:
“Make the implicit, explicit.”
Never assume.
It is true of neurotypicals too.
None of us are mind readers.
If you’re good at reading social cues, and you can tell if someone understands the context of your message, you can tailor the level of detail of your message or instructions to suit.
Not many people are, so it pays to be detailed and clear without being condescending.
Communicating effectively is an art, but one worth mastering.
As Brene Brown says, being clear is kind.
