There is one emotion that’s the most destructive one of all.
𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗘.
Some people feel that using shame-based punishment will get them the outcome they want.
Or perhaps they feel the need to make themselves feel better with a little power trip.
This is incredibly destructive behaviour.
Add HUMILIATION into the mix, and you have a lethal cocktail of emotions that can drive a person to desperation.
Sometimes it can get so bad that they may feel that there is only one way out.
I know that because of the heart breaking stories that #Samaritan callers share with me.
I delivered a presentation on high performing teams where I spoke at length about this.
And yet…
The following week, I heard a manager (who was at the talk) attempted to shame their subordinate with incredibly cruel words.

Be careful with your words.
They can literally kill.
Instead…
#BeKind
#BeCompassionate
#HaveEmpathy
I want my children to grow up in a world where these values are the norm, and not the exception. 🌹
Little by little, we can make it happen.
