Your life and your destiny is in your hands

Your life and your destiny is in your hands.
What a snobby statement, you might think.

What if you’re a slave?
What if you’re an indentured servant?
What if you’re drowning in debt and there doesn’t seem to be an obvious way out?

How much power you believe you have over your own destiny depends on your upbringing and beliefs.

If you had a violent childhood, been constantly put down and told to stay down or suffer the consequences, how do you learn to make a stand for yourself?

When the question arises for me, I look to Epictetus for inspiration and guidance. He was a Greek Stoic philosopher, who began life as a slave.

“It is not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” This is a lesson that all of us can take, whether we are slaves or not.

If you don’t take charge of your life and your destiny, who is going to do it for you?

My conversation with Deepthi Daita was wide and deep, and this particular point rings true for many of us in the #Salesforce world.

The #trailblazercommunity and the #ohana provides so much support for us to really blaze our own path, and to create the life we desire.

The #podcast drops next Monday 16 August!

I cannot answer the questions posed above, nor do I have the solution for all the ills in the world. However, I will do a post on Epictetus another time, as I love talking about #stoicism, which is a great philosophy for living a meaningful life.
