“You’re really good at what you do.”

“You’re really good at what you do.”

He chuckled quietly down the phone.

“I guess I’ll go to bed. I’m not going to do anything tonight.”

I let out the breath I had been holding for… I don’t know how long. Hearing those words never fails to give me such an amazing feeling. 💚

All I did was #ActiveListening and being deeply present for my caller.

Most nights I leave my shift with an aching heart, feeling heavy with a lot of the sadness of the world. 💔

But last night.. last night was a good shift.
I didn’t do much.
I was just… there.
I was there for my callers who needed a safe space to share their deepest pain.

And I gently reminded them that when it feels really dark, sometimes all you can do is take it slow.

One breath at a time.
One step at a time.

If you’re in a good place in your life, look out for those around you.
There are some who hide the fact that they are drowning.
