You know when you get into such a deep flow

You know when you get into such a deep flow that time disappears?
When the only thing that is in focus, that you are totally enraptured in is what’s right in front of you?

Well, I missed a meeting yesterday.
Very unusual, and incredibly embarrasing.

I was in such a deep flow yesterday, designing my next set of courses, that I totally forgot.
Even the ding alert bypassed my consciousness.

As a project manager, I frequently find my days stacked up with calls, internal and external meetings, IMs and emails that present themselves as issues that need to be resolved.

I am the enabler of work, the unblocker of issues, the maker of decisions.

In the past, I’ve had to block out time really early in the morning, to fit in a small exercise session and get some of ‘my’ work out of the way before the work-day begins.

Now that I am running my own business, I am able to get into the flow of things a lot of the times, and it’s an exquisite feeling.

But then I missed the call yesterday.
In the past, I would have been quite cross with myself, as it is very unprofessional, and not ‘like me’ at all.

However, once I’ve apologised to the client and rescheduled the call, I took a small moment to reflect, and to feel deeply grateful that I get to do work that is meaningful to me.

My wish for you today, is that you are able to find work that elevates you to the point where time has no meaning.
Because finding your flow is the nearest thing to magic that I know.
