The stakeholders won’t be able to grok this

“The stakeholders won’t be able to grok this; the document is too technical.” 👀

Ah, you mean they can’t get their head around it.

Not that salacious AI from the platform formally known as Tweeter.

Gotcha. 👍

It’s been really interesting working with the folks over the pond as I pick up quite a few words/phrases and am still attempting to grok the colloquilism.

Things like:

🇺🇸 Onesies twosies = 🇬🇧 piecemeal

🇺🇸 Tick tock = 🇬🇧 Timeline

🇺🇸 Grok = 🇬🇧 Get your head round it

🇺🇸 Read-in / read-out = 🇬🇧 Briefing / debrief

🇺🇸 Talk track = 🇬🇧 Talking points

🇺🇸 Sidebar = 🇬🇧 A quick word / aside

🇺🇸 Align = 🇬🇧 Agree / get on the same page

🇺🇸 Double click = 🇬🇧 Dig into / drill down

🇺🇸 Poles in the tent = 🇬🇧 The big sticking points

🇺🇸 Brass ring = 🇬🇧 The big prize

🇺🇸 Stack rank = 🇬🇧 Prioritise

🇺🇸 Jive with = 🇬🇧 Square with

🇺🇸 Fast-follow = 🇬🇧 Quick follow release

Table it ⚠️ Opposite meanings 🇺🇸 : postpone/park it. 🇬🇧 : bring it up for discussion now

I could guess what a lot of them meant, but read-in/out threw me – which one meant brief and which one meant debrief? Also brass ring, tent poles and the ‘table it’ wibbled my brain 😵‍💫

For those of you who work with cross-border/cross-cultural, what are the new words / phrases you had to grok as well??
