Are you a hoarder?

Are you a hoarder?

Collector of things that you say ‘just in case’ but in actual fact you just didn’t feel like making a mindful, conscious decision about
– how you feel about that item (any emotional attachment?)
– what that item is for (practical considerations)
– where that item is going to live
– how that item is going to impact you with its existence in your environment

You know, you can ask that question about so many things in life.

Are you mindful about
– what you put in your body
– what you do with the machine that houses your soul
– the people you ‘carry along’ in your life
– the relationships, intimate and familial
– the systems that you use at home and at work
– what tech debt is accumulated through your actions
– the data that you hoard in the various files, folders and database?

I mean, just scroll through your contact list on your phone.
How many contacts in there are people you’ve barely talked to in the last 10 years?
(I’m actually guilty of THIS 😬)

ANYWAY.
Yesterday’s post on data hoarding with a cracking ‘bad cholesterol’ analogy by Saurabh Gupta inspired this train of thought.

I am trying to live a mindful, examined life.
Which (in my opinion) is the only way to live a worthy life.

How about you?
What aspects are you mindful about, and what do you take the ‘lazy’, least resistance option?

ps: Right, that’s the last time I’m using dropped shadow on the font. Initially thought it looked cool but … nah.
