Building a Bridge

Waheeba Kaboud and Deborah Haile SF Admin, MA will be at the “Building a Bridge” session tomorrow, sharing their personal story as well as the challenging journey of the asylum seeker and refugees in the UK.

Waheeba is from Syria and has gone through the asylum seeker and refugee journey herself, while Deborah and her husband has been instrumental in helping stop human trafficking from countries like Eritriea, Somalia and other countries in the middle east, and has an intimate knowledge of the desperate lives of these people who have had their world taken from them.

I am looking forward to the conversation and the learnings from the panel discussion which will help me gain a deeper understanding of how this situation poses a challenge to #MentalHealth while relocating, learning a new culture and language, building a life and finding a career.

My initial conversations with these two strong women tells me we are in for a powerful discussion tomorrow.

At a deep level, I want to help.
In order to do so in an impactful way, I must first understand.
And that’s what the first session in the bootcamp is about.
