Have you ever hung onto grudges

Have you ever hung onto grudges and resentment so long that you’ve forgotten what caused it?

I think there are two broad types of resentment.
1. Where you didn’t get what you believe you were entitled to.
2. Where you’ve allowed someone to cross your boundaries and you didn’t say anything the first time, so they carry on doing it.

In either case, sometimes you resolutely hang onto it, perhaps because
– holding on means you’re “winning”. At what? You aren’t quite sure.
– there’s the part of you that feels self-righteous in your anger and resentment.

My good friend maz iqbal sent me an article about what we’d do if we found out we had just 1 year to live? How about 1 day?

How about 1 hour?

Those questions suddenly crystalized for me what my priorities are in life, and resentment was nowhere on that list.

Anyway, that was the epiphany I had that I wanted to share.
I was holding onto something that was causing my arms and my heart to feel tired and sore 🤕.
It was a purposeless emotion, and I’ve decided to let it go.

It feels good.
But I better go get a shower now. 🚿
