I really was not feeling super this morning.
Headache, sore throat, achy body – general bleah.
But I wasn’t so bad I needed bedrest, and it would have been sooo easy to just skip my #crossfit session today.
But then I saw that tag on my shoes:
1% Better Every Day.
For me, this has broad meaning. It includes:
🍩Talking to sprog 3 without ending in tears and stomping (for either of us)
🍩Not nagging sprog twins too much about revising for upcoming exams
🍩Keeping up with my xfit sessions
🍩Drinking enough water
🍩Working on the edits for Book 3 (thank you beta readers I❤️U!!🥰🥰)
They cover everything:
🍩Personal/Parenting habits
🍩Fitness goals
🍩Professional work
🍩Communication
🍩Volunteering stuff etc etc etc

So I put my shoes on and did my WOD (Workout Of the Day). 👟
Today’s strength workout was 20 Rep back squat progression, and the WOD was 20 minutes to complete 3 rounds of 400m Run, 20 Burpee Box Getovers and 40 Single Dumbbell Squats. 🏋🏻♀️
“If you can’t finish in the allotted time, that means you have let your ego win.” coach Andy said. “You need to scale it down to what you can do to complete the WOD.”
Self awareness is about knowing yourself well enough to ensure forward motion without hurting yourself.
Many of the London Marathoners didn’t get PB yesterday because it was hotter than usual. Those who pushed ended up in the Ambulance. 🚑
Luckily ÜberHub understood the assignment: he finished successfully! 🥳
I don’t need a PB in anything in my life all the time.
I just need to make sure it’s forward motion every day.
I want FutureMe to thank TodayMe.
Which was why I hushed MsComfyLazyPants and did my session today even though I REALLY wasn’t feeling it.
I just scaled it down:
Down ups instead of Burpees.
Box stepovers instead of Box Getovers.
5kg dumbbells instead of 12kg.
I just made sure I got it done.
So even though I ReallyDidntWanna, my endorphins are making me feel glad I DidItAnyway. 🥰
