We are born with 2 fears

We are born with 2 fears: falling and loud noises.
All other fears are learned
… including the fear of not being Enough.

This is the primary fear that drives people’s behaviour, to
– pass the exams
– get to the best schools
– mix around with the A-listers
– overspend on things to display wealth that is non-existent

The thing is though, when we achieve that milestone, we frequently find that it isn’t enough to fill this need.

We thought we’d be happy when we achieve that standing ovation, that Olympic medal, that golden hoodie, but what’s the next peak to scale?

If this is you, it may be worth asking the hard questions.
Why did I put this on my high priority list?
Why did I give up everything to achieve this?
Was the sacrifice I made in terms of relationships and friendships worth it?
What is it that I really seek?
Is it to be found in accolades and certifications, or validations of my worth?
What is it that I need to feel “enough”?

From my observation, there are a few who seem to have an aura of peace, and who seem happy despite the lack of material and external status symbols that so many others fight to achieve.

When I find myself trying to achieve something, I ask myself some questions – and make sure that the answers are the honest ones that reflect what’s really going on.

If you don’t do this, you’ll find yourself on a painful journey where nothing seems to make you happy.

I believe that “Good Enough” is an internal state of mind.

It’s not easy to achieve, but perhaps the first step is to be more mindful of what you’re doing.
And keep on #AskingQuestions

I believe that everyone was born worthy of love.
Enough in every way that matters.

And so are You. ❤
You just need to realise it.
