𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲𝘀 – what’s your style?

𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲𝘀 – what’s your style? 💃🏻

In yesterday’s #Salesforce BA cert Working Group session, we discussed the different styles a Business Analyst might use to influence others.

It is a really important skill, not only professionally – but in life as well.

How would you get what you want if you don’t know how to get it?

Being personable helps a lot, as does an inquisitive mind that is curious about human nature.

The phrase “#EmotionalIntelligence” is used a lot, but what does it mean in terms of the social skill that is needed to create relationships and forge strong connections with others?

It’s my personal belief that the foundation of successful #ConflictManagement#ChangeManagement#ProjectManagement or anything related to delivering successful outcomes based on working well with other human beings are:

1. Deep 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, without judgement or bias, and

2. 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 of the unique 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬 (or Worldviews) that others hold – constructed by their cultural background, childhood and upbringing, their belief system and all experiences combined.

I am always trying to find a way to frame things into simple lessons I can teach my kids, and it doesn’t get easier than those two tips.

The styles of being
– Collaborative
– Assertive
– Analytical
– Accomodationg
– Inspiring
(from the BA Trailmix on Trailhead) can be a tad dry… but to be honest, I think it’s much better to 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗱.

Covey said this 30+ years ago, and it’s still so valid.

Although, I think it would still be super fun to proclaim:
“I’m the Big 🧀! Bow to my Glorious Fondue!”

🤭

It’s not too late to join these no-charge highly interactive sessions.

We are going through each of the Learning Objective in the BA exam through discussion and breakout room exercises every week day from 2-3.30 pm UK time (until 12 August)
