Self awareness particularly during Discovery as part of a consulting team, is key in setting up the project for success.

If you work with a #Salesforce Partner, especially one that is medium to large in size, there is high likelihood that you will be working with
– new people you’ve not met before
– new technology/product/platform that you are unfamiliar with
– client organisation with their own political make-up and agenda
– people on the client side that have their own personalities and juggling their personal stress, fears and anxieties
– a project manager who may have high expectations of you!

So many new things.
So many unknowns.
So many moving parts.

First thing that will help is to be self aware, and this requires 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of what’s happening internally:
– what am I afraid of
– what can I do about my concerns
– etc

and what’s happening externally:
– who will I be working with
– what am I fearful of
– etc

In the process of introspection, it is equally as important to 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻.

Of course, it feels more comfortable sometimes to just stick your head in the sand. 🏖
Let’s hope everything turns out well. 🙏🏻
I mean, what’s the worst thing that can happen?
😱

Well, just ask any seasoned consultant what happens when Discoveries and projects go wrong.
You can identify them by their wrinkles, their burned eyebrows, and the haunted look in their eyes 💀

You don’t want to be them. Trust me 😬
Luckily, I learned all these things that I’m sharing with you, so I’m not that far gone yet 😂

Anyway, stay tune to more tips if you want to level up in your quest to become an outstanding #SalesforceConsultant and a proper #HumanBean.
