An epic battle. 🪓
An adventure.
A wondrous mystery. 🌹
A wretched existence.
Full of danger and threats.
To be tolerated until you die.
Like a box of chocolates. Full of surprises.
My worldview is shaped by my experience.
So is everyone else’s.
How you see the world will dictate how you operate in it.
Someone who has experienced childhood trauma will see life differently from someone who’s had a safe upbringing.
“The world is an evil place, so I shall be hard and aggressive to protect myself.” 😡
“The world is full of darkness, so maybe I should bring light to others.” 🌞🌻
Our cards are dealt when we come into the world and it’s in our power to decide what we do about the lemons we get.
(OK don’t get on my case about my mixed metaphors 😁)
Just this week I had beautiful conversations with Quratulain Tariq and Micah Rose .#brilliantbeautifulbold women who reminded me that everyone’s journey to their here and now is different.
But what makes them stand out is how they’ve decided not to let their history define them, and to take charge of their own destiny.
I am deeply grateful for the relationships that continuously enrich my world.
Deep meaningful conversations matter.
They allow us to explore and to understand the worlds outside my own.
Life is short.
Life is beautiful.
Life is about our connections to other people.
