“Oh you know, I’m alright. Just taking it one day at a time.” 😕

“Oh you know, I’m alright. Just taking it one day at a time.” 😕

Is this person doing OK?
Or not?
Didn’t they said they’re “alright”?

It may be they’re going through something challenging temporarily.
Or it may be something more serious.

I wasn’t sure, so I gently asked a few more questions to find out how they were really doing.

As it turned out, they were really struggling and couldn’t tell anyone as they were supposed to be the ‘strong one’. 💔

We all have really busy lives, day job, projects, family obligations… But that shouldn’t stop us from checking in on the people around us.

“Hey friend, just checking in. How are you doing?”
And then just listen.

If you’re struggling, you can call Samaritans freephone 116 123 from the UK.
In USA it’s 988 for the suicide crisis phoneline.

You don’t have to go through things alone. 🌹
